Busy is the word! Oh yeeeah. The season with the Cascades ended very strong. The corps finished higher than in 2009. Everyone kept working hard all the way to the end and it definitely paid off. A big thank you goes out to all the members and staff for pushing to the end and for the opportunity!
Carson and Tess are movin right along. This November we’re looking to do a small tour down the west coast to LA. Coming up we have a big show at the Showbox Sodo on the 17th. This show is ALL AGES. See you there!
Discs of Fury is ramping up to do a six-show run at The Triple Door leading up to Halloween on the 29th, 30th, and 31st of October. This time around we’ll be doing A Nightmare Before Christmas! All new music and stage show, new venue, all DOF. Stay tuned. Rehearsals are starting soon.
Recently, I went to the Zoo and saw Herbie Hancock. His band was Vinnie Colaiuta, Pino Palladino, Lionel Loueke, Greg Phillinganes, and Kristina Train. It was incredible. So many of my idols on stage at once. It got me thinking to a new music project I’m starting with some friends. The band will be myself, Andrew Vait on tenor sax/guitar, Brent Rusinow on Bass, RL Heyer on guitar, and Jeremy Manley on Keys. Right now we’ll be playing at the Seamonster every second Sunday playin some fusion-ish stuff. Come check us out!
Last but not least, the UW Drumline is off to a roaring start. My recruiting efforts paid off and we’re back to 10 snares, 5 quads, 6 basses, and 10 cymbals. What’s better is that this year’s rookie class is by far the most talented in UW history. Last Saturday we boasted record attendance at our 7th annual Husky Day of Marching Percussion with over 250 students and directors in attendance. Photos will be posted soon. What’s more, it’s looking like I’ll be getting endorsed by Remo Drumheads shortly. Overall, the outlook for the drumline is looking great. I’m extremely excited to dig in with them.
Gigs page is updated. Lot’s of great things going on. Keep your head on a swivel!
All the best,
