Ok, so here I am in Olympia with the family, eagerly awaiting a feast the likes of which have never been seen! Tasty aroma surrounds everyone in the household, yet we all must wait for everything to be “ready”. Ahhhh…. Thanksgiving.
This year, I’m thankful that the Discs of Fury were able to slay 6 sold-out shows at the Triple Door this past Halloween. That was awesome. I’m also thankful that Carson and Tess had such a great time on their first tour, of which I thankfully got to be a part of. During that tour, I was very thankful of Bruce Jacoby from Remo who went out of his way to come to one of our shows, buy me dinner, and then turned around and arranged a visit/tour of the Remo factory in Valencia, CA the very next day!
In addition, I’m thankful that one of my new groups, Vintage Pink, is all set to being melting the Seamonster on a regular basis…. every Sunday night that is, starting in December. See you out there.
I’m of course thankful for the UW drumline. Members, staff, everyone associated. This year has been the best group we’ve had yet by far and it the future only looks to be better. I’m thankful that we’ll be starting a winter drumline this year, and as a result will be getting very good as a group.
Lastly, (this is a big announcement) I’m thankful that on Dec 11th, I’ll be getting the chance to work with one of my drumming idols, Thomas Lang, as part of his 3-day long drumming boot camp, which runs from Dec. 10th-12th at the Quality Inn in Seatac. Sign up! Or, pass the word along to your students! Use the promo code “NICK” (no quotes) to get $50 off of registration! Here’s a link for more info on the camp.
See yas,
